Night grand final
Published 6 months, 3 weeks ago in My life.I think the AFL should stage the grand final at night. Imagine the spectacle? Fireworks, pizzaz and bigger TV ratings which in turn becomes more money to share between the clubs.

I disagree - footy is a very family-friendly game, and if the final’s on late at night, the little kids get sent to bed, or if they stay up, get too tired to enjoy it.
People often get together to watch the footy grand final, if it’s on at night then that’s more accidents on the roads as they drive home afterwards, tired and possibly drunk, in the dark.
The environmental impact of the lights - while granted, it is only one match, it is sending the wrong message, that we are willing to sell out our environment in favour of higher profits and TV ratings.
Having the grand final on during the day means that it becomes a whole day event, that encourages families (and extended families) to spend time together, united by a common interest. It also allows some time after the final for talk about how it went rather than everyone just heading home because it’s too late.
The only benefit of having a night grand final that I see (beyond profit) is that those people who work Saturday would be more likely to be able to see it (unless they work Saturday nights).
Grand final day is the best in the afternoon. Why, cause most people are home watching it so it means the shopping center in empty. It’s the best time to go shopping.hehehe
I think the AFL should stage the grand final in another country, they dont think much of us now , after seeing football they will think were all thugs and yobbos.
