Why drive like an idiot?
Published 10 months, 2 weeks ago in My life.Despite all the warnings about speeding on our roads, why do people still do it? Don’t they realise that their life or someone else’s can end in a split second? Anyone caught speeding more than 20km/h over the limit should be jailed for a year.

Quite agree with you, trouble is so many of them think it only happens to someone else, and that it does not apply to them because they are such “excellent” (in their own small brains!) drivers. I say double the current penalties, then each time someone is caught, double the penalty for them the next time, then the third time cancel their licence and forbid them from driving or owning any vehicle for ten years.
I must say, I never flash my lights anymore to warn other drivers of speed cameras. I realised no one learns a lesson that way. It drives me nuts when I’m driving at the speed limit and a p plater sits up my rear end pushing me to the limit and then flies past at some ungodly speed. What goes around comes around, they will get theres in the end.
I flash my lights at speeders, but only if I know there are NO Cameras or police cars around. I love seeing their brake lights go on in my mirrors!!!!!!
Yep, time to crackdown on some of these idiots. Just keep putting the fines and penalties up until the road toll starts to drop. I see the toll is twice what it was this time last year.
It’s not just the hoons we need to worry about. Everyone does something reckless on our roads at some stage. Whether it’s speeding, talking on a mobile or taking that red light you should not have. It only takes one error to cost a life.
